I know one can't use a skill competition as gauge for a person, but Brandon Harris' arm looked like a Mack-10 to me. Shoots all over the place except the target.
Name me some true freshman qb's who had outstanding performances in their first start. I can't think of any off the top of my dome.
First start, not sure, but definitely first season. Kevin Sumlin, Jimbo Fisher, Urban Meyer, Art Briles, among others have been able to recruit day one freshman starters. What's keeping Les from doing the same?
I've often wondered this as well. On a somewhat related note why haven't we had at least one player in the Heisman talk? I mean does our PR department just suck that bad? For example, I would take ZM over AJ Mcarron any day of the week, hell even Arron Murry for that matter. AJM was in the Heisman talk but not a peep about ZM. For that matter we hardly ever hear any LSU players considered in the Heisman race much less in the constant discussion. I know loosing to ole piss doesn't help the Heisman score card either.
Did anyone see Jennings' tweets from yesterday and this a.m? The last one is my favorite. Great Team Win. All we can do is get better. That's what I'll do. 10 Wins! — Anthony Jennings (@JENNINGSWINNING) January 1, 2014 I Will Get Better. Well I prefer live game over a skills competition and in a live game, he shoots much better than a mack-10. Not saying his accuracy doesn't need work. But I think his footwork needs more work than his accuracy. Correct the footwork, the accuracy will come naturally. He will come in with probably the strongest arm of all the QBs. So we will see.
