Excuse me? Won the west, host a regional, win the super and advance in CWS. I think it's been a hell of a year. Don't buy in to all of the naysayers who think the conference tourney is the end all/be all. 2 and BBQ is a blessing in disguise. Trust me. You don't want your team going to BR for the regional.
I knew this would happen. I started the thread, knowing there'd be like 4 people that were satisfied with "getting there" and sec west titles every year. Skip's players are good... hell, I'd say great. Our talent is on par with every team in the country. The question is more, "why do they always lose two in a row" I mean... there's a pattern. In tournament settings with more than 4 teams... 0-6 right? (or did we win one at the sec tourny in 03'?) not sure. I gave the examples of mack brown and bob huggins but their are tons of examples like the TaM coach. Im not turning on the team, and I'll never stop being a fan... no fair-weather here, but when did we turn into fans that settle for, "well, we'll consistently be almost as good as the good teams in the country."
This is the attitude that really cracks me up. Please explain, for the more ignorant among us, just exactly what we, as fans, by not "settling" for a mere divisional championship can do to enhance the performance of LSU athletes? How should we express our not "settling"? Should we fold our arms and pout severely while squinting in anger? Should we roll around on the floor spitting out greasy BBs? Do we loudly HARRUMPH while stamping our feet? Please? Tell us? How do we properly not "settle"? Inquiring minds want to know.
the only way I know is to get out there and cheer your ass off which raises their level of play. I'm not sure the so-called fans ever partake in that for baseball games. That is unless we have just won a NC.
I went to somewhere between 10-12 games this year. I agree. maybe it is ridiculous to want the team to stay on a nationally competitive level. and no, it's not so bad yet... but if you notice, it's getting a little worse every year and if nothin changes it's not gonna get better.
It's not at all ridiculous to want to stay nationally prominent. It is ridiculous to think that fans can do a damn thing about it.
