Parity has just about ruined the NFL. There use to be a few great teams every year but now everybody is almost equal. Thats the way the NFL wants it so that even a team with a 5-7 record late in the season still has a shot at the playoffs. Paul Tagliabue would probably cream in his pants if every team in the NFL went 8-8 one year.

I don't think that parity has ruined the NFL at all. Quite the opposite. I think it makes for a lot more really good games. The average NFL margin of victory is only 6 points.

You mean like tonight when 2 bad teams stumbled all over the field until the Bungles beat the Dolphins on a last second field goal?

if you think about the way the rule is i'm sure its supposed to stop the defender from diving over the line to block the ball, now this would leave a lot of problems with interpretation of how far the defender could jump so to clarify maybe they just said if the defender lands on the offensive player then it was a foul. i think the foul should be left to interpretation because maybe the ref wouldn't have called it but as it stands, he made the call according to the rules.
