1. our offense is improved 2. vandy is going to vandy, always have, always will 3. our third down completion rate rocked 4. when you are at church, wearing your LSU gear, and the preacher says "what is the holy spirit whispering to you", do NOT tell your wife "Geaux Tigers"!
What I learned: LSU is a national title contender. Mississippi State is a pretender. UAB is toast on Saturday. This will be a long, lousy season for Miss State and UAB fans. You know, like every other year for the past decade. Where's the whiskey?
Our high water-mark was 2010; a 9-4 season and a blowout of Michigan in the Gator Bowl. It's been downhill ever since. The 7-0 start last year was smoke and mirrors. I saw the game against Alabama.... it wasn't as close as the score indicated. It was brutal.
tell you what, for an offensive minded head coach, not getting into the endzone against a big 12 team would have me on suicide watch.
Mississippi State's loss was really disappointing. I almost always pull for the SEC team in non-conference games. It's not as if I were expecting State to win. But it would have been nice if they had played a competitive game.
Any one else a little concerned with LSU defensive ends being able to contain an athletic QB this season? I don't know if the speed is there this year on end like years past.
Yep was what stuck out to me, my concerns comming out of this games were: 1. Ends have to contain the read option better 2. LB'ers have to be more prevelant 3. We need to improve at Left Guard. I had more pro's than cons, but these are just the things that stuck out to me. Looks like offense will be our stregnth this year.
