Aargh! I've been wishing for everyone to lose a game so that there is BCS chaos. I figured Cal would be the one to get to the Orange Bowl. Don't tell me it would be tu! Ugh! Say it isn't so! Now, I'm reading that tu will likely pass Cal, regardless of which teams win any of the remaining games! Speaking of, J. Solomon's article in today's Houston Chronicle was great! See below. Stop, drop, and roll, Mack, 'cause you got BURNED!

    BIG XII NOTEBOOK
Beat OU and no whining necessary
Brown can skip BCS protestations by taking care of October business

You've heard of Mack the Knife, Mack the Truck and Mack the Pimp.

Now you have Mack the Whiner.

"Oh pleeease, let me in the BCS."

Do note that thanks to Southern Mississippi, Texas probably will overtake California in the standings and get that coveted BCS bowl bid. (A Rose by any other name?)

And the Longhorns are indeed deserving of one of the two available slots left for non-champions. But so are Utah and California.

Even Jethro couldn't cipher three guzinta two.

What I take issue with is Mack Brown's whiny postgame rant after a win over Texas A&M. I know his mama taught him not to beg.

Win a championship, and you don't have to worry about the BCS.

(Unless you're Auburn, which has a legitimate gripe. The Tigers could finish unbeaten in the Southeastern Conference and not get a shot at the national championship game.)

Texas has finished second in its division and has the nerve to whine about not being included in the BCS.

It's not as bad as the 66th and 67th teams complaining about NCAA Tournament exclusion, but it's close.

In the words of Bob Stoops, "It's about championships."

Brown, who picks up a nice $50,000 bonus should UT get into a BCS bowl, has won a lot of games but no championships.

    So stop whining.

Stop asking for somebody to give you something that you could have claimed on the field.

    Stop losing to Oklahoma.

Do you know that if Texas had the same won-loss record the last five seasons but lost to Baylor every year instead of Oklahoma, the Longhorns would be playing in their sixth straight Big 12 Championship Game this weekend?

Did you know that with a win over Colorado on Saturday, Stoops will have his fourth 12-win season in six years on the job and his fourth BCS bowl bid?

Brown's number of both the above is naught.

Brown's problem with the BCS is not California or Utah, whichever ragtag team from the Big East gets an invite or the media and coaches who vote in the polls. His problem is not having his team ready to play when it sees the letters OU.

Over the last five years, the Longhorns have been blown out, knocked out, run out, wiped out and — the ultimate disgrace this season — shut out by the Sooners.

So whine about the BCS if you like, but you have only yourself to blame.

UT defensive tackle Rodrique Wright said he would be upset if the Longhorns aren't in a BCS bowl. Upset, he said, but not highly upset.

"Unfortunately, we've been in this spot numerous times — on the outside looking in," Wright said. "If we take care of business in October, we wouldn't even been worrying about this."

And your coach wouldn't be whining about it.

And if Cal does not get into the BCS, the whole country should tell them that they don't deserve it and to stop bitching because they didn't beat USC...right?

Solomon is a moron. You don't have to win every game to get into the BCS. Texas is not saying that they should be in the national championship game, just the BCS. The problem is not that Texas lost to Oklahoma, it is that a 7-4 or 6-5 team will be in the BCS over a 10-1 team.

And Spring, no offense but you sound like an overly bitter Aggie with all of your posts regarding Texas.

ESPN Had an article about this very thing. They said if two of the three lose UT will play for the National Title.
