Untrue. Regulations were lax as demonstrated by the BP oil spill and they have been tightened. Permits are not impossible at all. While the drilling of new oil wells was halted last year, oil production from existing wells in the Gulf reached 1.6 million barrels a day -- an all time high. Yet the oil industry apologists would have us believe it suffered greatly during the temporary moratorium on new drilling. You've already proved you don't know chit about oil production as typified by your usual shallow response.
