A "real" fan is one who feels it in their heart as much as in their head. One who will occassionally gripe about the goings on but still will sit in front of the TV to watch and cheer them on. One who given the choice between regular clothes and school colors, picks the school colors. They are the ones that will spend $50 of their last $100 to watch the game in person. But lastly they are the people who seem to understand that things can't always be perfect and teams can't always win. They expect that their team will play to the absolute best of their potential. But perhaps their team loses in spite of that. They congratulate them on their effort and wish them well next game. And at night, when they go to sleep, they turn off the LSU lamp still happy to be part (even so minor) of this wonderful thing we call LSU athletics. Amen brother!
