i agree that her philosophy is a little obnoxious, but a lot less obnoxious than most other philosophies. the problem i see with virtually all philosophies is they dont really take a realistic view of human nature. my guess is i might be the only person in the world who understands people well enough to formulate the ultimate politcal philosophy.

(dont ask me to explain why rand is obnoxious, i would ramble more than either of us would like.)

okay, i know that you find the "hero man" obnoxious, but i bet you find a lot of good in objectivism. It would be interesting to learn the major "differences" betwenn Martinism and Objectivism, as you surely had to (will have to) stand on the backs of giants.

that was a very interesting read. I had never read the testimony before but I though it was odd how they avoided many issues that she addressed and tried to paint her in a corner.

seemed quite clear what she was telling them but they weren't too interested.

Swank, Hustler: Barely Legal, and "The Angel of Death" by Caleb Carr (very good period crime novel writer) but screwed up his reputation by working on Exorcist: The Beginning... terrible movie.

Here's what the President is reading. Sounds like pretty interesting reading, esp. Salt and Alexander II.

I just bought 4 books today...

Wicked....apparently this is the story of the Wicked Witch of the West before the house dropped on her. kinda silly, but I hear it is an excellent read.

Haunted....a collection of 23 short horror stories.

Jonathan Strange and Mr Norris....a book about 19th century England and magic. it is long, and depending who you talk to either really good like Harry Potter or really boring.

The Art of War...always wanted to read this, so I am giving it a shot.
