What is it?

    It doesn't go inside of anything, it stands on it's own. The "business end" is not really for inputing data. It is for reading data.

    It is not fiber

    Does not go underwater

    By gas, do you mean is it a gas detector? If so, the answer is no.

    I'm gonna be away from the computer today. I'll try and check in, but I'm spending the day w/ my new boss so my opportunities will be limited.

    Looks like some kind of network testing tool. Does the tool require the spool to work, or will it work by plugging in an ethernet cable?

    since kyle owns it it isnt some sensitive measuring instrument. its something a lot more simple but i have no idea.

    is it used by an electrician?

    Nothing to do with networks testing of any kind.
