I don't consider Martin insane for not being able to prove God does not exist. I consider him an arrogant, close minded, egotistical jerk for continuously trying to mischaracterize belief in God and for doing so in as rude a manner as he can get away with on TF.
That is the thing, his post are designed to ridicule and anger the one he is responding to. When it comes to religion he seems to be extra vicious. I just don't care for that kind of posting, it does not mean I do not like Martin, I am just tired of his "magic man in the sky" post is all.
Martin is the Jehova's Witness of Atheism. He tries to push atheism on people like Jehova's Witnesses try to push whatever it is that they push.
taking his comments personally doesnt make a lot of sense if you can prove to him otherwise, that your beliefs, religion, god, whatever are an actuality. is that really too much to ask? if not, you probably should not be afforded any more consideration than the harold camping fellow --i think is his point. we apply rules for the validity of many things whether math, science etc. but some things we have been trained to simply overlook and accept. our own religion is the number one in that category. why do you think its indoctrinated from the time you begin to breathe. in every corner of the planet systematically. if you wanted to brainwash a generation of people how would you go about it? Probably pretty close to how religions operate. for the record I was raised devout catholic, I am just blessed by my creator the ability to see things objectively.
yes we have been telling him for years its a terrible way to present an argument. but we are not emotional kids. we have women that are emotional for us.
