Next "hot" college coach, Jim Schlossnagle, ex Tulane asst, UNLV HC, TCU HC, has immediately put VERY average teams into regionals. Came close to going further last year against Baylor, VERY PERSONABLE, young and CAN RECRUIT. He knows LA HS after being at Tulane 8 years.

That’s a good question. I was wondering why he didn't ship Brady off but now I think Brady worked his kinks out and is a good coach. LM, well he had a good first year w/CNS talent I guess we will learn more about him next year. I just don't know about Smoke. He took one of the best baseball programs in the nation and turned it into a team that is a big ? I don't know if Skip has the balls to fire a coach. I hate the way he scheduled that chump team last year in football. I don't like the way he treated the Arizona and Tenn situation last year. I think he let Tenn's coach sike the team out. Skip WTF?

Do you realize how rediculous that sounds?? --We're already talking about shipping off our head coach before he has yet to coach his first game of the season.... Sad.....:dis:

I agree with you on this talent issue. I like Smoke and think he's a good coach but personally I have been a harsh critic of Turtle Thomas and his recruiting efforts. And yes ultimately that is the head coach's responsibility. In the past few years he'd recruit all these kids that would never see a stately oak or broad magnolia on campus. It's great and fine to recruit this top draft pick type talent but if they never cross the lines at Alex Box then it's fruitless. The problem is there hasn't seem to have been a solid contingency plan in place when those kids get drafted and sign a pro contract and LSU is left searching for a body. For the last few year's I haven't seen the kind of talent that LSU was used to getting during the Bertman years. Also there's been a problem keeping the talent they do have healthy and in Baton Rouge. The "Program of the Decade" has slipped a notch back in the last couple of years. It needs to reestablish itself as one of the Top 5 programs in the country and the only way to do that is to win the National Championship.
