with the returning players, I think anything less than 9-2 would be a large disappointment. I think we should go 10 -1, but may have a slip up somewhere. I also think if we don't win in Atlanta next year, it might be pretty ugly in Baton Rouge.
7-4 is not acceptable. I will be happy with a 9-2 year. Looking at our schedule, I am worried about the TN and the Alabama game. Ole Miss and Florida will be in the same situation that we are in and have new coaches. We have better players than Ole Miss, and should win that game, but FLorida will still have a good team; however, that game is at LSU so that should help LSU. Auburn will be losing all of its star players, vandy is well vady, and Arkansas should be better than the 2004 team, but the game is at home and we will have far superior talent. Arizona St. may come in a surprise our new coach with a tough game, and we could lose that one (if you don't believe me, then let me remind you of Oregon St.). I think that we could easily win the SEC West, but it will all depend on what kind of defensive system that Miles installs. I have faith in his offense.
I've got mixed feelings about Jimbo's performance this year. Often times I thought we were way too conservative but I realized he was trying to play the hand he was dealt. I think the erratic play of the QB's and a young group of WR's limited him in what he as able to call. Special teams were really bad this year and hopefully will improve under a new coach. I'm a little worried about some of the comments I'm reading from the OSU fans about their DC who appears to be coming. Miles has openly admitted he's an offensive coach.
I would not accept a 7-4 season either. I'm just saying it could happen. I think we will win the SEC.
I don't think I would except anything under 10-1... even the west coast homer say we are loaded next year...:angryfire
10-1 would be incredible Even though we have a crap load of talent its still hard with a new coach. Look for us to win the west and very possibly the SEC.
I think we will be fine offensively under Miles next year but the biggest question is what is going to happen on the defensive side of the ball. I'm hoping that Miles decides to keep at least Muschamp here, it would be smart for stability and familiarity with the players we have. I am bringing this up because the amount of games we win or lose will depend on the changes that are made and the different defensive schemes that need to be learned. Do we still remember Saban's first year and how the defense wasn't as good because of busted coverages and other factors involved in learning a new defense? I hope we can go 7-4 or better and a return for a New Years day bowl. It might not be as easy a year if Nick would've been here because of all the changes that are going to take place.
Sourdoughman, I don't understand it... Are you sporadically hitting the enter key while you type? Just going along typing a message and *SUDDEN URGE, MUST. HIT. ENTER KEY FOR NO APPARENT REASON...?
