I assume that means that their scholarship restrictions have ended but it sounds like they are assuming that a lot of their commits aren't going to make the grade. They are our exact opposite - we're shooting for quality and they're looking for quantity. :geauxtigs

I read on Rivals tonight where Keys cancelled his visit to Baton Rouge and was expected to sign with the tide. So I guess they are getting some quality.

Chris Keys is a safety who committed to Nick Saban and the Tigers in March of 2004 as a junior at Port Barre HS (Port Barre, LA). Keys later got into some trouble at the school and decided to get away from those problems there by moving to Stevenson, AL and enrolling at North Jackson HS while living with blue chip athlete Ali Sharrief and his family. Sharrief has since committed to Auburn. On August 2 the Alabama High School Athletic Association ruled Keys ineligble because he left Port Barre HS on bad terms from a discipline standpoint. Keys has since filed a suit to play for North Jackson this year, but is still waiting for any sort of judgment

He might be a good athlete, but..........

Great post Saltyone...sometimes there's more to the story than the physical attributes...Saban did a solid job of recruiting higher character players, and I hope Coach Miles can continue that.

I didn't know he had some off the field school related problems. You make a good point, he may be a good athlete, but he may not be worth the trouble.
