My Dad, the Texas Aggie, taught me that cheer about 55 years ago. I liked it then, I like it now. But how often does it come up in conversation? ldskule:ldskule:
its what UF does to land top recruits that are on the fence...tell the kid they'll give his dad a position on the coaching staff  . Tebows dad is the....thinking of a clever coaching staff position title hence....dad is allowed to go on the field
He was actually everywhere Tebow was last year during the recruiting process and the first few games of last season. Urban had to ask him to stay off the sidelines. Tebow's dad is one of those types who thinks he is a coach.
I wish the students would be more like student sections at college basketball arenas, though I realize that would be hard given the difference in number of students and open-air facilities. It might not have been "intelligent", but it would have been funny as hell if every time Florida's defense was on the field the students had yelled something along the lines of, "Joiner's in! Our cars are safe!" And when the defense left, "Joiner's out! Don't steal our cars!" Or something along those lines. And I would pay good money to have them chant, "lighten up, Francis" when a coach like Meyer or Spurrier goes ballistic on the sidelines. I'm an old fan of the "blood makes the grass grow" cheer. We used to chant that in high school (band).
Hmmm, so this must be an Ag school connection thing between LSU and TAMU that goes way back. I guess Rice fans have heard this a lot. We sure yelled it a lot when we played them, even at Rice.
IDK, our basketball student section isn't that much better. I remember when we played A&M, the LSU student section started chanting BONFIRE BONFIRE at the A&M section. Kinda messed up, but def. was funny
