What would it take for Jefferson to earn your trust as the starter?

Sometimes I DO imagine we had an experienced senior TRUE dual threat QB in the backfield...

I trust the kid, I am not sure the coaches are putting him in good spots. I am not a coach, havent played in 20+ yrs, so I hate sounding like a know-it-all, I think not having that senior at QB right now, giving this young man a chance to learn a system is killing his confidence. He is a very good YOUNG qb who faces a ton of pressure from defenses, the down and yardage. He has the talent, I am just not sure if his experience is quite there, NFL QB is the hardest position in all of sports, so I am sure college QB isnt that far behind, especially in the SEC. I hope he can make it through this year, get better, not have his confidence destroyed and come back stronger. I havent written this yr off, but I think I understand the limitations of our young QB.

I'm a stats guy and I don't think it has anything to do with a stat line that he has to meet.

If he can play like did against GTech, and his stat line was good but did not have a ton of yards, I would be happy.

I just want to see some decisiveness and confidence return to the young man. A lot of that has to come from the coaching staff putting in situations he can excel in. I look for a completely different scheme vs Auburn that will get Jefferson back on track to compete successfully the remainder of this season.

I don't think we should bench the guy, but i do think Lee should see snaps, as well as Shep. But in order for me to have complete confidence in the guy, he is going to have to bring us back from being behind late in the game. Don't tell me he did it against UGA either, because he didn't do anything except want to give the ball to Charles Scott twice, which by the way, makes me think he really isn't even confident in himself.

Still, . . . 96 yards passing just doesn't cut it in the SEC.

+1 on all of this. Also I'd like to see them call some rollouts for him. It really seems to me that he is much more comfortable rolling out and is a more accurate passer when he is doing it. I'm thinking of the bowl game here.

He has to not look so much like a deer in headlights. He cant be so scared to throw the ball. He is just often too scared to pull the trigger when someone is open. He is even too scared to throw it out of bounds when the pocket collapses, instead he takes a sack. He has to take off when its the right time. JJ is a great runner, use that. JJ must start leading receivers. The receivers always have to stop, they are never hit in stride so they cant become a playmaker after the catch.

I want to see the JJ that threw the ball down the field to LaFell, his one really good pass against UF. When JJ just goes with the flow, drops back without fear of mistakes he is a real talent.

Just see him throw a ball out of bounds instead of taking a 10 yard sack. That would be a good start.
