I saw another thread about adding a second deck to the south side of the stadium and it got me thinking; if I had the authority and money, how would I make the stadium better...if that’s possible. 1) New windows for the old dorms or concrete over them. 2) Put arches on the south-side pillars. (Like the north end) 3) New, level field (Miss. State quality) 4) All new bleachers 5) Replace LSU overhang by the locker room with a new one (same design) 6) Bring back the "welcome to death valley banner" 7) Bigger and better jumbo-tron 8) New beefed-up chain-link fence 9) Paint visitors locker room like a nursery or maternity ward 10) Repave every parking-lot and road on campus (nothing to do with stadium but I’m buying struts like I’m buying books) How would y’all renovate the stadium or would you not touch it.
1. Put new window panes up. 2. Power wash stadium 3. Fix windows 4. Drink heavily...okay, maybe thats just me getting ready for football! 5. Just me, or do bleachers seem like they were put in backwards (ouch my back!)?
I would make all areas of the stadium accessible from anywhere. I hate that you can only get to certain sections through certain gates.
I agree! That is what I would do... make the entire stadium accessible, such as AU has it in the stadium. ALlso, I would do the things yall have already said!
figure out a way to fit 50,000 more fans into Tiger Stadium w/o raising the cost of tickets. .....retractable poles in every section for random amateur pole dancers for all the GD TV time outs! Well now the beer is talking...but serious about the 50,000.
Bring back the Piss on wall Men's bathrooms. It takes forever to use the john in the upper south section especially under Section 15. If it ain't broke then don't fix it.
New Field Turn old dorm rooms into game weekend hotel/hospitality suites and sell packages for the games.
I think they should renovate the stadium dorms and rent them out for gamedays, like tailgating suites or something. Back when I was in school and the stadium dorms were still open, we used to have parties in the stadium before games, then walk downstairs to go into the stadium. It was a lot of fun to do that, and it might be a good money-maker--though it would cost a whole lot to properly renovate...
I thought they looked into that years ago, but found an asbestos problem. Removing the asbestos before you can renovate is probably too expensive. But that would be a great thing to do with those dorms...
