1. Missouri is perfect if the SEC goes to 16. They have a football tradition, but they aren't likely to upset the apple cart in the SEC. Plus they bring both Kansas City and St. Louis markets.
  2. I think IF we do this we go to 16. Mizzouri and A&M stay in SEC West, but what 2 go to the SEC East? I happen to like WVA as an addition, but the 4th is escaping me. We don't have a lot to choose from, unless an ACC team or two want to jump ship and I don't think that happens.
  3. VT would bring Virginia market, NC State the North Carolina market.
  4. I agree. I think there are some regional teams that make sense for the SEC, like FSU, Va Tech, WVA, NC St (big viewer market and SEC does not have a NC team, but NC St. is another Ole Miss or Kentucky). I just don't think we pull any teams away from the ACC, which leaves us with squat to choose from.
  5. So what? Like we need more national contenders in the league! What we need are Kentuckibilts.

    Why?
  6. Gotta look at the big picture. If we want to keep winning, we need facilities and coaches. That means money. Right now, there's a money grab in CFB. We need to get ours. This seems to fit in with that mold. We get a TV market that we are not already getting. Missouri isn't too dangerous so it's not too bad.

  7. We will find out what they are made of saturday vs. Oklahoma
  8. In terms of top 100 TV markets, Missouri offers 21. St. Louis, 31. Kansas City, 76. Springfield and 80. Cape Girardeau (combined with Paducah, KY and Harrisburg, IL). By comparison, New Orleans is 54, Shreveport is 81, and Baton Rouge is 93.

  9. Last I heard, there is a $20 Million dollar penalty for any team looking to leave the ACC. They are now 14 and going for 16. I dont see any ACC teams headed this way.

  10. I see your point about the Kentukibilits. Which, is why I think Texas and Oklahoma have no interest in coming to the SEC. One of my fears of expansion is that we make our league so tough, we make it tougher to get to the national championship. If we want to add Kentucibilits, then we go with a&m, missouri, WVA and ? ? Louisville??

I don't think we get any ACC teams because their commissioner just re did the contracts and added a 21 million dollar buy out clause for a team that wants to leave the ACC. I do not know how many are interested in paying that to come the SEC to get their fannies spanked, particularly when there may be more tv dollars to share if the ACC goes to 16 teams. Also, Clemson, Ga Tech, FSU, Miami all make some sense to go to the SEC, but UF, USC, UGA do not want an additional in state school in the SEC. I think they would vote against adding those teams. Correct me if i am wrong, but I think it takes 9 of the 12 current teams voting in favor of adding a team. Also, those schools are the ones that may be willing to pay out the escape fee, I don't think NC State has the $$$ to do so, nor would they want to. IMO
