    Mizzou fan here.

First off.. no idea if we'll actually end up in the SEC or not at this point, but a lot of signs seem to be pointing in that direction. If it ends up being true, we're going to be elated as I'm sure you can all imagine. The SEC is far and a way the strongest football conference in the country and can grow as a program by entering the league.

I see a lot of concern here that we won't be adding much to the conference, and I can understand that sentiment from a football perspective. It's important to understand that our football program is growing and has grown pretty consistently under Gary Pinkel over the past few decade. Pinkel pulled us out of a two decade long black hole and has made us a threat within our conference over the last 4 years. During that 4 year period (dating back to 2007) we've been top 10 in the country in total wins, been to two Big 12 title games, and had 5 players drafted in the first round of the NFL draft (will likely have at least one more this year).

Where does this rank us in the SEC? My personal opinion is likely no better than Arkansas but likely no worse than South Carolina (two teams we've beaten in bowl games over the past decade).

Don't worry, Mizzou not going to embarrass the SEC, we may even surprise a few folks in the south;)

Actually, with my stance that we are not going to get Okla, Texas, any ACC team, it stands to reason that A&M, Missouri, and WVA are good fits for the SEC. I do not know who the 4th would be? Of course, rumor is WVA was turned down by SEC today. I don't know why, given the remaining teams the SEC may have to choose from.

I think Missouri is a good fit. Always heard they'd go to the Big 10, but I like 'em and it doesn't stretch us out too much geographically. Nice tv market. Then we need to teams for the east, though. Unless we get four western teams and push Alabama & Auburn east. That would kinda suck.

Mizzou ... not a fan. though they'd likely never come, why not Texas?

Realistically, i'd prefer to go for FSU or Virginia Tech from a competition standpoint, after Texas, of course.

Grab a chair and stick around. This is a pretty fun place. I think Missouri will be around the same level as aTm or possibly Vanderbilt.

I think Missouri is an option that definitely fits what the SEC should go for if they're going to keep expanding. A solid school that has potential to grow more in football and will help give the SEC more credit academically while still expanding the market.

SEC wants nothing to do with Texas. Heck the pac-12 is even treading lightly with them. Simply TOO MUCH baggage.

The problem with FSU and VTech is they're not leaving the ACC. Especially after the ACC added more teams.

I like it. But, for me it is purely for selfish reasons. I recently moved to the Saint Louis area from Baton Rouge and would love to be in SEC country again... I know it ain't exactly the south or the east but I will take it.

Missouri is the best SEC option for the 14th team in my opinion. They are the only big time University in Missouri, a state that has two large TV markets.

The SEC Presidents have already said they wouldn't expand the Conference within the current footprint. Add to that the fact that the ACC is a strong conference and is in no danger of breaking up. The ACC also just increased their exit fee. This leaves out Florida State, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech. North Carolina State and others that have been mentioned. Stranger things have happened but realistically I think you can pretty much forget about it.

The other question is would Missouri accept an invitation to join the SEC? They laid their heart on the BIG 10 door last year and were rebuffed in favor of Nebraska, so they just might.

They would be a good addition in my opinion.

    1st choice = do nothing
2nd choice = add TAMU but only because it adds Texas, not really excited to add the Aggies.
3rd Choice = North Carolina school
    4th Choice = Virginia school
5th Choice = Mizzou - it just seems like it will never fit in. We are not their first choice, and they are not ours.

I don't have a thing against Mizzou .... they seem to be a good team, I think they can compete. SEC membership would likely improve their recruiting efforts, pulling from Kansas and Oklahoma. It give us a nice rivalry game between them and the piggies ... and HEY .. we all get to go to Branson on our way to the game :D

But Texas ... NO .. Hell No!!
