Mizzou boarders ark. It's not like the PAC bringing in ok or Texas. Arky would have a team that actually gives a chit about having a rivalry with them. They are a flagship U and have a respected fan base. Mizzou isn't as bad as some other choices we could have. Mizzou is closer than Kentucky. Mizzou isn't a bad choice.
Actually nothing standing between Mizzou and Tennessee but the Mississippi River as well. As an added incentive to join the SEC, Slive is offering a lifetime Bye week before playing Bama. But they must hurry while offer last.
i really wish the whole no more pac12 thing would put an end to the talk of mizzou to the sec. now that this leaves ou, osu, and tech no where to go, i hope that the lil 9 will still finally find their cajones and get rid of beebe's sorry ass, tho three schools too late. a new commish needs to rein in texass and their lhn, or tell em to go independent. and then add teams to the conference.
My 2 cents, The PAC said no to expansion, the reason why is twofold; It tells Texas that the PAC is united, bevos must agree to a totally level playing field with no special privaledges,.. agree or go away! PAC commish, Larry Scott seems to have a very friendly relationship with Oklahoma. I think Scott has agreed to step back, and give Oklahoma a final chance to save the conference, ie fire Beebe. If the big 12 folds, Oklahoma and State,.. and the PAC will quickly agree to marry. I don't see why a 14 team conference wouldn't work as well as 12 or 16. Maybe the PAC adds two more, during the ensuing carnage. Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe's job status is tenuous, source says - ESPN
:geaux: Interesting read and insights on conference realignments. Who knows what will actually happen, but this may be pretty close to what will come out of all this. :LSU231: Answering questions about the ever-changing college sports landscape - ESPN
I'm going back on my original post, if we MUST add another team I guess Mizzou will be welcomed. I think they would be a middle of the road team but open up a new market and bring in more money.
Two different divisions. They'd only have to make that travel every few years at most. That's if we keep West vs. East regular season games. Which if we add more teams we won't be able to do at the current number of games per year.
