Just had some smoked sausage, boudin balls, and cracklin from Bergeron's in Port Allen. It was good.

I did a chuck roast in the crock-pot with some taters, carrots, onions and garlic.

My VERY first gumbo this Sunday! I got my Maw-maw to show me her way over Christmas and I'm excited to try it alone for the first time.

My youngest son (20) is a little weird in his eating, not always, but he tries strange things that I never would think of. When in La., I brought home 6 lb. of boudin, Neal wanted to have his intl. buddies try it out. Last night, he heated some up, pulled it out of the case, put some mustard on a hamburger bun, piled on the boudin, and had a boudin burger, which was GREAT!!! :)

We got it at Cormier's Grocery in Cankton (near Opelousas/Sunset area for those in the north), used to be Menard's Gro. I went to school with the wife of the owner, and we had a nice conversation. Good boudin, they have both fresh and frozen for traveling. I thought it was better than the Best Stop near Scott.
