Out on the back patio firing up the grill and icing down the beer. Getting ready for the shuttle launch and......IT'S STARTING TO RAIN!!!!!!! Not the weather I was hoping for here in Deland Fl.
As I look out the window to my left, I see two beautiful oaks towering over the buildings across the street. The sunshine is shimmering through the branches and filtering down to the flower beds under each of the oaks. Looking out the window behind me, the blooms on the crape myrtles are plentiful. The oaks in the distance near the lake aw swaying lightly in the breeze. This is one beautiful sunny summer day in Baton Rouge folks.
the only thing i do not miss about north texas is the damn heat. it hails in dallas sometimes when its in the high 90's.
As I drove back into town last Saturday from Louisiana, it was 94 degrees the whole drive. As I made the turn to Hwy 80, heading to Dallas, it suddenly was 104 degrees. However, since then, we've had rain and cool fronts. It hasn't been above 90 degrees all week!! I love that.
