He was born there but chose to attend school at Southern Miss. If his roots are that deeply set in Oxford, why go to another MS school?

My earlier comment about being indebted had to do with his wife and her illness and how he was allowed to "work around" what was needed to care for her. It had nothing to do with where he was born.

Gotcha, wasn't claiming to have insider info, hell I don't care much either way, just thought I had heard he was from there. Someone also said he was the HS Coach for Mike Ohr or something like that. I didn't have the energy to check and see if it was true or not. Never watched the movie.

Are you saying he noticed his style wasn't working and made a change?

Yep he was his high school coach. He also was hired by ole miss 20 days after ohr signed. Was hired but never had a job per say, till the following year.

Adding to what LSUDad said...the relationship between Freeze and Oher was in Memphis: nothing to do with Oxford other than the Tuohy's.

If him saying his hurry up style resulted in too many negative plays and that can be translated to "wasn't working," I guess so.

It's my opinion it had less to do with his style of offense and more to do with who he had under center—Wallace just doesn't have the discipline, as of yet, to run that type of hurry-up style. Heck, him trying to force the issue is what led to that final turnover when the Tigers played the Black Bears.

Stoops would be a lateral move at worst. Not that he would be my candidate, but Alleva could do alot worse than Stoops.
