I predict that some barner fans will be selling tickets to the LSU game in the near future. They will not want to come to BR for a monumental smack down.:geauxtige
Cox has regressed as a quarterback, IMO. Surely Auburn has another quarterback. I was also disappointed in the performance of Wilson yesterday. He seemed to have a weird throwing motion and no zip on the ball. I thought he looked much better last year when I watched him pley.
Simple enough about last night for AU. Breakdowns galore. I think the D is playing very well, especially when you look at the players who were missing last night and others who have been lost for the season. I make no apologies for them, and I expect them to improve during the course of the year. Hopefully it will be enough to keep us in games. The O is a different story. I was more than willing to write off last season's performance by Cox due to injuries, but can't do so this year. He started his regression after the bama game in 2005, the Wisconsin bowl was horrific, and I first put the blame on a lack of preparation on CTT's part. The Washington State game was a showcase of Brandon not doing any different, but LSU beat him up so I thought he never had a real chance to progress. The lack of a backup QB was apparent, thought we had enough in camp to overcome that this off season. That alas did not happen. Blame it on Jetgate or whatever, the guys that should be seniors for this class provides little in sheer numbers. The vast majority of talent is in the last 2 classes. Waiting to see how it develops. In the meantime we will stumble along on O with Brandon or go ahead and let Burns start his learning curve. That last step would also help in recruiting because folk would know a redshirt freshman wasn't in front so PT would come quicker. The season isn't history, the D will keep us in most games. If Brandon continues to stare down his receivers as he did last night, though it will not be enough. I trust that improvements will occur on both sides of the ball. We definitely are not MNC material this year, but very few teams are. LSU is one of those. Disappointed, Hell Yes, but not in the effort displayed. As long as they try to bring it I can endure. A bit more sullen perhaps, but even when I am disappointed in the results I can still find something to be proud of.
Man, you folks can be a little hard on ol' R.E. I don't think he's really earned a rep as a pot-stirrer, ala BitterND.
Cox's MG is going to prevent him from healing quickly. In fact I'm quite surprised he can even play college football..
Well, most of the folks here hate Bama, which means they hate me... It's ok, I'm not going anywhere...And if we beat you guys on Nov 3rd, they may just get a petition started to ban me...
