I found a book within the past year called Taking Charge: The Curley Hallman Story. It was written right after he was hired to be LSU's head coach but before he actually coached his first game for the Tigers. It was pretty funny reading the quotes from various people about how one of "Bear's boys" was going to do so many great things at LSU, many saying things such as "I wouldn't be surprised if they go undefeated and win the SEC this year". It was actually pretty funny in that "Holy crap, I know what crappy times are coming" kind of way.
Curley must hate to hear the words "Baton Rouge." He lost everything here....more than just his job. I say all the time that if I had known Joe Dean was going to hire Curley, I would have been down at LSU screaming to keep Archer.
I would say it's best not discussed here. BTW...Hallman has a TERRIBLE record at Muscle Shoals. They have sucked from the minute he took over.
So should I assume at Southern Miss that it was less Curley and more of Favre? I find that hard to believe. What has Brett Favre ever done to prove his worth?
