The guy backed up Shaq for three years and only had one year as a starter. But he was an All-SEC center that year. Pretty damned amazing. I read an interview with Geert in the 90's in which he compared the NBA with the Euro League. He was disappointed at some of the small, cold European arenas with poor locker facilities after a couple of years in the NBA. But, on the other hand, he was a bigger fish in a smaller pond and could make more money as a star there than as a reserve in the NBA.
