Yep and that's because it seems like Alleva went all in with Jimbo. Had he been a little more flexible and actually had a fall back plan, such as an A-list up and comer like Herman, he may have been able to pull it off.
BhelmLSU said boosters weren't willing to risk paying the buyout to hire Herman because of his supposed interest in Texas.
@bhelmLSU has already covered why that wasn't done. We as LSU fans might as well face the facts, it's back to pre-2000 for us.
I'm assuming you're wrong. If I knew you, I'd love to see if you'd actually be willing to bet on that. I doubt it. LSU was starting 2 freshmen on the O-Line this year (3 at times) played the last half of the season with a true frosh FB and had a 1st year starting QB. They're getting a ton of guys back. Highly unlikely they finish under 500 in conference.
You know what they say about assumptions. What in the last 8 seasons has led you to believe anything will be different?
What do you think will happen if we lose the bowl game in the same manner as we did during the 3 losses? Red zone woes, penalties, no passing game. I wonder if that ground swell will still be there.
