I know many fans were getting discouraged when Bama offered but all the sources are still saying LSU and he said this in a TideInsider article:

Way too early in the process still to have him inked to LSU.

    Things change as you know.

This one will get very interesting at the end.

I was listening to local sport show 690 am here in New Orleans last Thrusday night. It is the flagship station for Tulane, but at 7:00 it is nothing but LSU. While make a long story short they were going to have WR Coach Billy Gonzales on, but he called in to the sports show and said he was on a recruiting trip with Coach Miles. 690 sports show host said that they were at the home of Mettenberger. They tried to get Coach Gonzales to tell them where they were, but he said nothing. I guess Coach Gonzales did not want to get into trouble with the NCAA with the rules about recruiting a player.

The Host did not tell were he got the information on were Coach Miles and Coach were neither on that recruiting trip.

Really not way too early at all. Remember he is enrolling in December.

That is why he made a comment about not having much time for visits and thought he would only have time for 2 visits before the playoffs. A&M and LSU. Maybe he can squeeze another on in but will depend on how far his team makes it in the playoffs.

Things change but having every source saying LSU this late in his process is very encouraging. Look for him to officially commit when his family is here for 2-3 days for the Ole Miss game.

Yep, the staff used the bye week to make the rounds. Been with Mettenberger a lot and takes to someone including Miles multiple times a week. I heard Mettenberger calls the coaches a lot too.

Now the big question becomes do we think he can come in here and really compete for the starting gig in the spring?

And even more importantly will he be given a fair shake if he is good enough to start? I say no to that.

I think he can come in and compete and possibly play next season if he gets the job done. We are lacking a vertical passing threat and if neither JL or JJ can get that done then we have to play him.
