I was listening to the Kaare Johnson show on 870 AM yesterday while delivering pizza and he had a pretty good topic that I would like to get some of you guys to answer. Where does LSU rank in football all time. I've only been an LSU fan for three years now and have no clue where to start. What do you guys think?? Who's better than LSU and why?
this site does it and theres diff decades also. this is all time. http://cfbdatawarehouse.com/data/rankings/all_time_team_rankings.php Rank Team Total Points Win. Pct. Points Schedule Points Nat. On this site we are #13 all-time: http://www.mjbsportsstats.com/cfrec.htm ...same as another part of CFB data site mentioned above... http://cfbdatawarehouse.com/data/misc/div_ia_wins.php
That one must be the AP poll site. I like the other one where the Tigers are 9th a lot better.:thumb:
Cool Web site. I bet some of you math wizzes here can figure what it would take to get into the top 5. Can it be done this year or is it a few down the road.
Wow... I did not know that Yale has more national championship points than USC and many others. Also, I counted 74 schools that have never won a NC. Pretty nice to have two at LSU.
Even with another NC this year, we look at moving up within 75-100 points of 8th place Texas. It would take 2 more NCs just to move up into the #6- #8 range. The good thing with this list is that Notre Dame and Alabama are not going to be great anytime soon, so teams listed #3 and lower will all be able to catch up on them in the next 5 years or so. Look for Oklahoma or USC to take over first place by then (with the other team being 2nd place). Michigan will be close to 3rd by then. My guess from looking at the numbers is that LSU was more than likely #14 before last year's season. A 5 position jump in one year is sweet.
