Seems like maybe we've already done this but not sure so here's mine:

    Born -Houma, LA
Thibodaux for a few years until age of 4
    Lafayette, LA from 5-17
Baton Rouge (LSU & first job) from 17-23
    Houston (Heights) from 23-30
    The Woodlands, TX from 30-36

Guessing my list is shorter than most people my age. It's hard to pick a favorite so I'll call it a three-way tie between Lafayette (where I'm "from"), Baton Rouge (damn I loved college), and The Woodlands (everything is seemingly so perfect, also close enough to Houston but far enough away).

    Central (0-2)
    Baton Rouge (2-5)
    Brusly (5-6)
    Baton Rouge (6-12)
    Albany (13-17)
    Baton Rouge @ LSU (17-21)
    Baton Rouge (21-26)
    Dallas (26-29)
    Plano (29-43)

By my quick count, I lived in 15 different dwellings in those 9 different locations.

I've been in Plano for the most time and lived in one house for 7 years and have nearly 7 years in the house I'm in now. The current house is set to be paid off in 11 or 12 years, so I think that may be the one for the long haul.

Both my husband and I moved around a lot as kids, and so it's been a focus of ours for our girls to have a more settled "one place is home" sort of childhood. So, our girls have gone to the same elementary school with the same set of friends, and now my 7th grader is at the feeder middle school for our neighborhood, as well. It's made a HUGE difference in the number and depth of the friendships they've developed over what I had when I was growing up.

I always had a good friend or two, but who they were changed quite a bit because I switched schools/residences so often. I went to 7 different schools when I was growing up--and most were not because of feeder patterns (like where my daughters will ultimately attend 4 schools K-12 in Plano.)

Moving around even affected how I approach my career. I taught in two different schools in Louisiana in the five years before I moved to Texas. Now, I've been at the same school here in Plano for 17 years--and doubt I will ever switch.

My ex-husband's grandmother owned an orange and olive ranch in Ivanhoe, California, about 10 miles from Visalia. I loved that area of California--so much better than LA or San Diego.

I lived not too farm from an olive grove. The irrigation ditches had lots of pyrite in them. I thought I'd struck it rich.
