Is there any great place to watch the LSU game with fanatic LSU fans in New Orleans?

O know Lager's draws a good crowd in metairie as well as the bulldog on magazine. Might want to check Hytopps at the Hilton. I think most tiger fans are going to be out of town this weekend though. My best bet would probably be Lager's

"Lissen" up ... if you go to N.O. for a weekend ... here's the ticket for a good time ... especially if you got women and kids with you

Best Hotel recomendation (get a special rate ... surf the net)

HOTEL DE LA POSTE 316 CHARTRES ST, NEW ORLEANS, LA (504) 581-1200 MOTELS & HOTELS (great big comfortable beds ... #1) ... close enough to all the action and ideally located ... I never stay anywhere else

    :thumb: :thumb:

This is an easy route to follow and you have several can't miss opportunities to have a great time ... ALL ON ONE STREET ...

FRENCH QUARTER ... DECATUR STREET (ALONG THE RIVER) ... CANAL TO ESPLANADE

    1. Start your day off with a lazy time across across from Jackson Square ... on Decatur at the French Market ... coffee and beignets ... get a newspaper and kick back and watch the show ... the artists start setting up ... caricatures and other cool stuff for the kids and the girls :thumb:

    2. Next ... make a walk down to the French Market ... check out the shops and produce stands ... When you hit the back end of the market and see a church ... turn around and make your way back but ...

    3. Stop at 823 Decatur for lunch or to make dinner reservations or just to look at the menu ... make this restaurant Tujague's (Best Creole/Cajun) food in New Orleans and a unique throwback to the old days of dining ... a true experience not to be missed ... Listen to Joe "Ramah" Pesci here ... YOU GO TO COMMANDER'S PALACE :dis: AND THEY WILL **** YOU ... THEY **** YOU EVERY TIME :dis:  Don't do it ... Commander's is too busy and service goes beyond "sux"

Other great times along Decatur ... and in the Quarter ...

Cafe Sbisa at 1011 Decatur ... very nice ... authentic Creole menu

There is a casino with a good buffet where Decatur hits Canal ... just cross Canal Street and you're there ... I always bust 'em up on the roulette table when I'm in N.O.

Landry's on Decatur is a good moderate priced casual Cajun style restaurant.

If you want to try K-Paul's and stand in line ... it's right down the street from the hotel.

Pat O'Brien's is a great place for LSU fans to meet up after the big win on a Saturday night ... especially with an early Kickoff

Dammittttttttt ... just got me homesick ... I'm headed for Bahrain and some Beer N' BBQ now ... and afterwards, a nice Cigar lounge where I can get a traditional Thai Foot massage with a nice cold Corona ...

    ah, the suffering

TJ ribs does have the best ribs, but it is at the Acadian exit. That is one exit down from college drive. This is where most out of towners exit to got to the game anyway.

Since most posters have covered the food thing, i will address your swamp needs...

Most tours are tourist traps, but there is one right outside of Baton Rouge (headed for NOLA) that is really good. Alligator Bayou. Most of us grew up going there on Sundays for free Jambalaya and cold beer (and the occasional fight). But in the last few years it has become on of the most interactive swamp tours in LA. If you want to pet Alligators, hold snakes and pull beavers whiskers you can do it on this tour. They also have cold beer on the swamp boat.
Check the link out. If you need more info let me know. It is across the street from my house.

Check out their web site and photos from the tour.

Thanks Beaux-Bo, I have some yankee's coming down in October and wanted to take them on a swamp tour. Do you know how far in advance you need to make reservations or can you just show up
