1. I wish they put them all in a museum on campus so we could all go and relive the memories.....:thumb:
  2. I was in Pat Gillen's Bar on Metairie Road in Metairie, Louisiana. Place was packed because of a 2 for 1 special during the game plus all the crawfish you could eat not to mention LSU and the CWS championship game. When Morris hit that home run the doors almost came off the place. Their was dancing on the tables and just a great atmosphere for the game and post game. The partying went on till the wee hours of the morning. Sadly old Pat Gillen's is no longer there. The place was an institution in old Metairie. It has been torn down and a bank is there now. It is truly a loss to all who have been through the doors of a great neigborhood bar whose family and friends were going to for years. LSU! LSU! :usaflagwa :usaflagwa
  3. I was at Ivan's Sports Bar with friends.
  4. Was that the bar across the street from Lee's Cleaners, Mark Twain Pizza, etc? I think a bank is there now.
  5. back in the day the bat was in the LSU sports hall of fame on the third floor of the athletic administrative complex next to tiger stadium. I member my mom took us by there and they kept all kinds of stuff in their like "the boot" and different things like that. Not sure if that's still the place cause that was a prob 7 or 8 years ago when I was a kid.

My memory was being at my grandparents house which happened to be located on a small lake in town. It was like me my grandfather and my dad and brother and uncle. We'll when he hit the shot I member just going nuts. I happened to have acquired one of those horns that's real loud that they used to sell at those minor league hockey games in baton rouge and lafayette. I mean once you learned how to blow those things you could crank it up and it literally sounded like a eigtheen wheeler air horn or something. We'll after the morris hit I grabbed that thing real fast and ran outside in the backyard that backed up to the lake. I blew that thing as loud as I could and the thing sounded like a train was coming through the middle of the lake with the echoes bouncing back and forth like an explosion or something. I member people coming outside and getting the whole idea and just laughing and waving. It was a neat experience for sure. I think I repeated the performance in '97 with similar results haha.
  6. Yes! That was Pat Gillen's Bar. They tore down the whole block. They had a car shop, Zack's Unfinished Furniture, Pat Gillens, and a Children's Clothing Store there. The lady that owned the whole block sold it to the bank and that is what's there now. I had a few friends that tried to buy Pat Gillen's but she had already made a deal with the bank.

Are you from Metairie? :helmet: :helmet: :geauxtige :geauxtige
  7. At a soccer tournament in Alabama, we were at a bar/restaurant getting ready to go back home (or maybe to the hotel). Most of the team was their with our parents, the place went absolutely nuts. My dad was an LSU fan, but we had lived out of state until late '94, so I hadn't followed the team with any great passion or had an "experiences". This was one of the first and one of many "early" memories about LSU.
  8. Was in Boot Camp MCRD San Diego. Got a letter from my mom with the Advocate Front Page. Couldn't really say anything just went to a rack mate who happened to be a Miami fan and just gave him the paper. It made the week fly. Watched the taped version when I got home in December.
  9. You gots a soul?
  10. I used to live on Dorrington. Few blocks down from that area.
