How about Jumbo Fisher or Norm Chow (USC Off. Cord.).

I think the coach at Tulane coach does a good job playing the hand he's been dealt.

    Price would probably be OK.

You have to believe he learned his lesson at Alabama.

That .583 winning percentage is just astounding, isn't it?

    Coaching Options

Les Miles seems to be the best candidate available. He has to know he will always be #2 in the state of Oklahoma, where if he travceled a little South, he would be "Boss Hogg". I know it is a long shot, but Saban has alot of ties to the Titans organization. I could see him calling Jeff Fisher to see if Mike Hiemerdinger, or Greg Williams would be interested in what he has started....Butch scares me to much. Seems like the perrineal underachieving coach...:geaux:

I'm biased, but the coach who is widely considered to have done the most with the least is Kirk Ferentz... but you can't have him!

After our 11 win season in 2002, all the experts said that Iowa would dump, as we weren't yet in a position to "reload". Then we won 10 games in 2003 and finished #8. Yet again, the "experts" said that Iowa would be lucky to go .500 in 2004 with all of the talent we were losing. We wen 9-2 and 7-1 in the Big11.

This success has as much to do with our S&C coach (Doyle) and our facilities. (Iowa has the largest and best football-only wieght facilities in the nation). We had a great recruiting class last year and this year is shaping to be top 5/10. There is every reason to believe that Iowa can contend for a MNC in the near future, which is precisely why Ferentz won't leave for a while (college or NFL).

Personally I hope LSU gets Petrino... he is a great coach and a classy guy.
