Grew up a Saints fan in New Orleans. Back then, before free agency, there was team loyalty with players. Back then, football was the only pro sport I enjoyed over college. Now that players go to the highest bidder, I'm a larger fan of college ball (though still a Saints fan).
College. However, I wouldn't watch any two college teams go at it (Rutgers vs. Cincinnati was BORING), but I would watch almost any two NFL teams battle it out. They both have their pros: College - Regional prejudice - School pride/student fans - Passion and emotion without the paycheck - More of a team-first mentality - Good players usually stick with one team - Recruiting - Hotter chicks NFL - More of a state/large city pride, rather than a smaller city/local pride. I like the Saints and think they represent Louisiana as a whole professionally, but I don't care for Tulane and think LSU represents the state as a whole "collegiately." - Draft/getting to see your favorite (and not so favorite) college players succeed or bomb out (Peyton Manning vs. Ryan Leaf) for a number of years. - Football at the highest possible skill level. I'm willing to bet that the worst NFL team would steam roll the best college team. It's just a much higher level of production. I love 'em both, but have to give it to college. It's just more exciting as the season progresses. One loss, and your season could be in jeopardy.
College-no question about. The teams The rivalries The fans The food The pageantry The stadiums The history of the schools The excitement I could go on and on..
college. i have no emotional attachment to any NFL team. i'll bounce around from game to game on the Sunday Ticket, or stare at the Redzone channel for 6 hours, but mostly will just follow my fantasy team.
