    In Gottfrieds defense, he has done wonders with what we have left--from players leaving early and Wooden guy Chuck Davis going down. This may be his best coaching season ever with what we have. We only play 7 deep and tweaked the offense from the UCLA high-post to more of a motion game to get Steele more involved.

    We are losing some games this year and some are calling for his head, but those are the ones that just see the "L's"...They dont see what he's making out of so little.

    On a side note, we just signed junior phenom Senario Hillman out of Georgia for the '07 season. I know, he's just a junior but people are talking about him big time. He's already listed a 5 star SG. If we can just get Hendrix to stay around, we should be back in the thick of things in a few years.function photos(){ window.open("/PictureGallery.aspx?PlayerId=62860&Title=Senario%20Hillman","PhotoGallery","height=450,width=550,statusbar=no,location=no,scrollbars=yes,toolbar=no,resizable=yes"); }

    You remind me of someone who used to post here. The guy name is TIGERUneducated. He hates c. Brady with passion & soooo embarass to show his face lately. The schedule is getting tougher but it is nothing comparing to the start of the season, heh.

    Translation: Please guys...we've managed to sweep that under the carpet and we're trying to keep it there.

    My opinion: If Brady had found a missing fax resulting in renewed eligibility for a player, he would be blindfolded and shot by the NCAA gestapo.

    I think people can argue this thread all day. I personally think that Tubby IS a great coach... he's a defensive minded coach, that is tough, and he has a NC. Oddly enough, Brady is in a very similar mode, just not won anything yet to prove it. And, until he does, we'll continue to debate this. I for one felt that Brady deserved COY awards for LAST year's performance considering that he took a team that NOONE expected to finish above 6th in the SEC to the SEC West championship. Tubby just rolled out his 10-12 thoroughbreds and got COY.

    BUT, I take a little beef with your above statement. People I believe give Tubby a little TOO much credit for coaching, when, let's be honest, the Kentucky name recruits by itself. You say that LSU has MORE talent? :shock:

    Let's be objective here...

    Joe Crawford ... McD's All American, No. 2 SG and No. 9 overall prospect in 2004, lit it UP in the McD's all american game.
    Randolph Morris ... McD's All American, No. 2 Center and No. 10 overall prospect in 2004, will likely be a NBA center.
    Rajon Rondo ... No. 5 PG coming out of high school, No. 25 prospect in 2004, likely NBA draft pick. These are kids in Tubby's top 2 or so class in 2004, and they're all sophomores.

    Rekalin Sims was a JUCO All-American. Kentucky has three guys on their roster over 7' tall, each of whom were top 150 type players in their own right. On top of that, they're playing with 3 seniors and 4 juniors on their roster.

    On LSU's side, Glen Davis (no. 13 overall prospect in 2004) and Tasmin Mitchell (true FROSH, no. 20 overall prospect in 2005) are the ONLY players on our roster getting serious minutes who were even close to this level. They were both McD All-Americans. Then you've got Tyrus (ranked nowhere coming out), D.Mitch (top 4 in the SEC in four statistics, and not even a top 100 kid out of high school), and G.Temple (need I say more?). Magnum Rolle was a well regarded player (no. 18 overall prospect in 2005), but he's getting less minutes than Darnell Lazare (no. 134 overall prospect in 2003).

    We're talented, but don't make Kentucky out to be a team with bad talent, like you're crying that Tubby has had some bad recruiting years. Tubby's had a down year coaching these guys this year. In fact, you could maybe argue that ANYONE could coach these kids to where Tubby has to this point. Perhaps with CJB, UK would be in the SEC lead right now... :hihi:

    I'll go so far to say that should LSU lose to UK in Baton Rouge when they play, it will NOT be a surprise to me given the talent level that they're playing against. UK remember was predicted to be a top 10-15 team preseason by most accounts. LSU? 30-40. So, who's doing a better coaching job this season? :geauxtige
