small world story: my mom hates that dude hootie johnson. he used to hang out at her house when she was young and was pals with my grandfather. they would go hunting on my grandfather's land and my mom says the guy was an *******.
Frank Broyles, AD at Arkansas, has been a member there for a long time and Holtz had a ship long before he got the SC gig. Just in case you don't remember, Holtz coached at Woo Pig U B4 NotreDAme.
Hootie's just posturing. Spurrier will be welcomed into Augusta with open arms. Now, if Crooms had gotten the South Carolina job...
SabaFan you may be right, none of us know the details but I cannot imagine the membership for a Gamecock coach being autoimatic with Augusta's policies. Living in Atlanta I've met a few of the members and have actually got to butcher the course once myself shooting a magnificent 124. Thoise are the toughest greens in the world to put on, let me tell ya. Anyway, being in Georgia, founded by a Tech man, I just can't see why they would make a deal with USC like that. If there is one thing that club doesn't need, it's members.
From the info I heard-----Steve could have gone to Fla. and made about three mill a yr. Money was not the issue. He wanted to answer only to the President of the college. No AD----NOT ANYONE.. Fla didn't go for that. At SC, I understand Mr. S has TOTAL control and about 1.9 mill.
Looks to me like the Florida AD hasn't had a very good year. :dis: The worst thing that could happen may have. :bncry: I hope Clemson doesn't kick it's Bowden to the curb. Stevie needs one to torment and it'll be fun to watch. :hihi:
I guess this is Hootie and Augusta National's reprise at trying to make ado to all those women who protested last year's Masters. We won't let women in, but we'll let in the men who act most like a woman, aka, SuperSteveSpurrier.
