I really don't expect Toliver to redshirt. He wasn't the number 1 WR in the country for nothing, guys! Yea, he needs to add weight, but he's big enough to catch a few passes this coming season. He & Benton still need 1 point on their ACT to qualify last I heard. Some people, including myself, are very high on Byrd. He's a 4.3 guy, good hands, and more physically ready than the other guys. LaFell - has been impressive in practice ever since he got on campus. He had a pretty good season as a deep threat #4 guy, but a dissapointing Spring game performance. It is unclear how well he runs routes, etc at this point. Mitchell's - from what I hear, they look good once the ball is in their hands, but haven't developed into good WRs yet. Maybe they'll benefit from Crowton's offensive philosophy of getting WRs the ball with space to make moves. They were barely noticed in the spring game. Dixon - slow, but physical with good hands. Some people are high on him. I'm not sold... We'll see what happens.
Only way I see Tolliver taking a redshirt is if we find a WR that stands out and has some serious production, he is struggling with the offense, or he suffers an injury. These problems would have to be realized in the 1st few games to qualify for a redshirt or medical redshirt. We will have a much better view of the WR position in the Fall.
Having played against Byrd last year I think that everyone is expecting a little to much out of him he has a ton of upside but needs to put on some weight and can afford a little more courage while going across the middle. I hope he gets it together
