One other choice I haven't posted and is very familiar with LSU as he was an assistant at Tulane for almost 10 years. TCU coach Jim Schlossnagle,
great coach, great recruiter, has TCU rising fast.:geauxtige

I would go with either Jim Wells, George Horton or Mike Bianco.

    Ok, thanks!!

I was wondering to whom they were referring. That would definitely make sense. He's developed a great progam in a very competitive area (UT/OU/OSU), but like Smoke before him, he hasn't been to the big dance in Omaha.

The bama fans around here say that they hate Jim Wells and would be glad to get rid of him. His record isn't that spectacular. Not sure I'd want him.

I've heard that myself from some friends in B'Ham. Problem is if you're Bama fans, they better be careful what they wish for. They had nothing before him and they may not get somebody as good as him.

I like Wells and think he should have gotten the LSU job the first time. But now, I would list him and my #2 or 3 choice behind Bianco and maybe Horton. I don't know much about Horton other than wins and losses......which may be all I need to know.

I personally think we'd have an easier time getting Wells from Bama than Bianco from Ole Miss.

That's what I'm thinking. Why would we want to get anyone that "Smoke" was able to beat fairly regularly????

Horton would be great, but he will not likely leave the Weat coast for the deep south. He is safe at his job and they pay him quite well. The attention will propbably get him another raise.

I don't have a good reason, but I just don't think that Wells is the man for LSU.

That leaves Bianco. Or a dark horse candidate. Bianco will cost LSU a bundle, but so would Horton.

I agree Wells was my first choice last round and would have been a much better choice than Smoke but I like a couple other candidates better this time around. Bianco probably being my first choice and as much as I hate him maybe Jones second. I like the way both of those have taken players from in and around La. that Smoke and the boys passed over and turned them into a quality team. Is it better recruiting or better developement of players I'm not sure but both should be able to recruit even better at LSU.

My 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice is Bianco.

After that, I dunno. I like what Cohen is doing at UK, but he'll be interested in the MSU job when Polk retires.

    It's Bianco all the way...
