  1. I voted Peterson but I could see TT as well. I think overall though Peterson was more solid. TT had 3 catches I believe? Peterson was all over the place defending passes and running down ball carries. He is also by far the best tackler on the team. He actually tackles through you, trying to wrap. Unlike Jones, Coleman, and Sheppard who go high with arm tackles.
  2. Peterson without a doubt in my mind. He was the last line of defense in many situations and stepped up to the plate, big time. T. Toliver would have been my second choice. It'll be fun to see more from him as the year goes.
    1 person likes this.
  3. I can't vote... but I give Offensive MVP to JJ:

The kid who just turned 19 last week, connected 11 of 19 passes for 172 yards and 3 TDs and 0 INTS... can't ask for much more from a kid who only started his 3rd game last night. He took some big hits, sacrificing his body and didn't fumble. He made the throws when it mattered with pin point accuracy... he's going to be special. Once Tebow and Snead are gone next season... JJ will be the premiere QB in the SEC.

I give Defensive MVP to Peterson:

Played good solid D, prevented a score and was where he needed to be most the night. He will be a very special palyer as well, although i'd like to see him lay the wood as often as he can... make recievers scared to catch a ball against him.
  4. I voted for Cutrera.

    Why?

I guess it's because Jefferson looked like he did in the Bowl game.

T.Toliver has shown that "flash" before, too.

Peterson was an option because he made some really nice tackles to avoid yards after the catch....but he did give up a good bit of catches (I'd have to watch it again to see if most of those came in man or zone coverage) but he's a coverage CB and we've seen that from him last year as well.

So that left me with Cutrera. INT return for a TD and countless big-time tackles including an absolute STUFF on 3rd and 1 when our defense needed to get off the field. He also had a few key tackles when Polk had broken tackles and was running downfield.

Basically: Cutrera had the game that he's never seemed to put together before.
  5. What about Lee? He made a very nice on the mark throw to KW for a gain. Kinda got nervous when he came in for that one play, but it all worked out. I think Lee will be a good back up.
  6. That Patterson Peterson feller looks like the real deal. But big Perry Riley looked like a DB on that endzone incompletion.
  7. Gonna go with Toliver. Our O was stuck in neutral until he made a man miss. Then he did it again when we needed insurance points.

As far as I'm concerned, he made two very huge plays when nobody else was making any. Without him, we aren't up at the half or up 2 TDs in the waning seconds.
  8. Not that it matters, but for the record, it was actually Mark Jones calling him that. Bob Davie actually got his name right.
  9. Peterson, always around the ball and was the only Tiger that looked like he lived to tackle.
  10. I could not agree more. We all know PP is a stud. We all hoped this would be TT's year which it seems to be. JJ did what he needed to do for the most part. Cutrera exceeded expectation by far even without the TAINT. There is a lot of (negative) talk on here about the state of our LB corp which I am a part of, mainly "why would a top recruit not want to come here since they could prob start right away." So when Cutrera has the outing of his life, I think he deserves the nod in the vote.
