Does Pelini really go to Nebraska? Did ESPN get that wrong too?

Does he leave immediately? He would have to.

Where do we go from here in preparing for a pretty good Ohio State offense?

It sucks that we have to go though this with so much on the line (and I'm not talkin about Dorsey)..

That is a good question. Pelini is in a tough spot. He's got the big payday and the bigtime gig. He and the school are going to want him to get started. OTOH, he has unfinished business here and a chance to pocket one of these:

    :crystal:

It would be nice if Nebraska could be flexible and let Osborne continue as the interim coach and let Pelini report the day after the BCS NCG.

Well no way Pelini hangs around to coach the LSU defense for the next 30 days. He has to start his job in earnest immediately after they sign him to a contract at Nebraska.

Can any of our current assistants make the play calls on the sideline?

Anybody familiar with the inner workings of our coaching staff?

Do we hire a DC and implement an entirely different defense for this one game? Geez, that's a scary thought.

I would assume, if they had to, any of the defensive position coaches could take over the defensive calls.

I'm sure BP has a right hand man that helps him with the defense.

I think Tom Osborne should ask himself what he would want if he was in Coach Miles spot. Osborne is a man of integrity. Now that integrity gets put to the test.

    this is an excellent point

I think the consensus was LSU was out of the running for the NC going into Saturday's play, making Pelini to Nebraska happen and happen quick.

Now that we are in the NC, what does Osborne do? Does he go after a DC that still has so much vested in another team and so much riding on the line? Or does he get his coach now so he can save the recruiting season.

This is a little silly, but since theirs a contract involved, my guess would be the logical route. TO is a good guy, I'm sure he,d go the classy route, and Pelini coaches the Tigers "D" one more time. Should the all the angels in heaven drop the NCG in our laps.
