Haven't read all the posts in this thread so sorry if I'm asking a question that has already been asked. Is there a time frame that Miles needs to get an OC in place?
Quite often the only single dimension of difference is that the passing game is so much more effective than a standard attack. You would be surprised at the TTU numbers also, not quite this balanced, but not as skewed as you might think. And when you look at the number of 3 yard throws to RBs that are like handoffs...... Rushes LSU 445 BYU 437 +8 LSU Yds Rushing LSU 2162 BYU 2100 (1845 Net) +317 LSU Passes LSU 366 BYU 425 +59 BYU Yds Passing LSU 3272 BYU 4206 +934 BYU TDs LSU 55 BYU 60 +5 BYU Run % LSU 54.8% BYU 50.6%
I, for one, am excited about seeing a replacement at OC. A more imaginative mind will pay huge dividends for what will be one of the top 5 defenses in the nation for years to come.
As a follow-up to my orginial post, it appears that Louisville is on the verge of naming Tusla's Steve Kragthorpe as its new HC, and Bobby Petrino has named Chad Johnson as his OC at Atlanta. I don't know what Paul Petrino's future holds for him, but I think the fact that he will not be the HC at Louisville or the OC at Atlanta serves to make him more available for LSU. We should at least interview him. Yet I cannot help but be concerned about the fact that his name is not even being mentioned. Ditto for Sonny Dykes of Texas Tech. These two guys are among the top OCs in the nation and neither one seems to be on LSU's radar. Very concerning. I wish I could e-mail Coach Miles.
