Ya, my first thought was Petrino. Wouldn't be suprised with Peterson either... but a lot of big-time programs have been trying to get Peterson.

    ooooooo......

theres a name i hadnt considered. i would love to see that. not only do i think he has "flaws" and i dont care for florida, so the two deserve each other, but i would love to see the sooner fans in a meltdown.

thanks for the nice thoughs, bhelm!

At first glance, the Stoops to Florida idea is laughable, but Stoops was the DC at Florida ("Stoop's Troops"), so it is not entirely outside the realm of reason.

Bob Stoops probably has the best shot, but I wonder if Spurrier would not be interested.

I have heard there are boosters trying to move on from Stoops and Stoops is not liking the criticism so I threw his name in there given his ties to UF.

i said that if i were a fla fan, i would want the young, up and coming, and hitting his peak coach, not the already big name. (tho i do love the idea of stoops there for a lot of reasons.)

so continuing on 327's question, which would you want if you were a fla fan? the next big name or an already big name?

Should be: Brian Kelly. No reason to not get into a bidding war with ND and knock them down a peg.

Might be: Dan Mullen. A pretty good 1st year with the cowbells. No way MSU could match if florida comes calling.

Gotta believe C. Strong is kicking himself right now....
