Philip Rivers QB Rivers measured 6-5 at the combine but measured 6-4¾ here. He weighed 224 pounds. He ran his 40s in 4.99, 4.97 and 4.95, and also ran the 10-yard dash in 1.71. There were times that were not as fast as the ones we put up there, including one at 5.10 for the 40, but it's our policy to use the best times. He added a 32½-inch vertical, a 9-0 long jump, a 4.34 short shuttle and a 7.34 three-cone drill. He also threw to three receivers, including Jerricho Cotchery, and two running backs. Our sources informed us that he was very accurate.

Arguably the most effective quarterback in college football and is only a step or two below Eli Manning in terms of being a prospect. He's got great size and a very good arm. Rivers is a deadly accurate passer who sees the field well, makes quick decisions, and gets rid of the ball quickly. He's probably the best 2 minute drill quarterback in the draft. The only thing keeping him from being a top 5 pick is his throwing motion. He reminds me of a stronger armed Bernie Kosar.
