The loss will come at a time that no expects....such as California 2 years ago and should have been Stanford this year.

Arkansas loses to USC and the whole "Pac-10 is good" argument starts to come up.

    Please

perhaps. their backup to Andrew Walter looked great as did their defense. Not sure who all they are returning on D or O but that QB was a sophomore who lit up purdue. I think his name is Sam Keller.

Maybe Charlie Weis will help ND find an offense.

Why do you feel bad for anyone that plays USC in the Rose Bowl? You act like USC actually has decent attendance numbers. Their stadium would be empty if they didn't cover half of it with letters.

Notre Dame didn't need help with O or D... Willingham couldn't recruit for sh t... sub par recruits and waning national attention affected ND, some saw this coming for years. When ND starts grabbing big names and bringing back the Irish winning mentality, thats when they will start winning again. I think Wiess will do well there.

Add: do you remember their running back 'shredding' USC's run defense, just seems like they gave up when the going got tough.

they'll never be anything more than above average at best til they change their academic standards. the rules have changed, ND hasn't.

I still think with the academic standards that they have, they can recruit 'quality' recruits. They may not get the 5 star DT with a 12 on his ACT but they can get good players with good grades. Besides I think it is great that ND doesn't lower its standards in order to appease their alumni... takes balls to do that now a days. See Cal-Berkley (standards for admission)

its not balls, its stupid. thats why they have won zero bowl games in 10 years and will continue to struggle. Its also a big reason Urban Meyer had to turn down his dream job, as they wouldnt allow him any free passes on recruits to bypass the academic standards set. this isn't 1972 anymore and ND is mediocre. they need to address it or simply accept mediocrity.
