I wouldn't exactly call Bama in the 70's and 80's and Florida in the 90's our rival. More like we were their doormat/bitch.

For the record, I having absolutely nothing against ULL, but that statement is absolutely ridiculous. I would bet not even half of the people that attend LSU games are ULL grads. Hell, I'd be willing to bet that a higher percentage aren't even college grads at all.

Well, I don't think the Tigers were anybody's bitch . . . ever. And LSU was never a doormat, not even in the Curley Hallman years. We definitely got up for those Bama and Florida games more than any other. That's how I define a rival.

I don't like typing it any more than you enjoy reading it, but sorry to say yes we were a doormat during the Hallman years and yes we were Florida's "bitches" during the 90's. They outscored us 121 to 336 and we only beat them once. I wouldn't exactly call that getting up for those games.

That's all in the past though and as of late Florida and Bama are our bitches.

1992 was the only year that the Tigers were last in the SEC.

A lot of teams were Florida's bitch in the 1990s. You could make a strong case that the UGA Bulldogs still are.

I like the comments made about ULL. 80% is pushing it, however a large percentage of ULL grads to go LSU home games. I will also agree that a vast majority of the people that go to LSU games aren't even college grads. What about Arkansas? I think they should be LSU's only true rival. They play for the golden boot every year. Who else is there in Arkansas to compete, Arkansas State? Ha:hihi: That's a load of crap. Arkansas is the only true rival. I know a lot of Arkansas guys that claim that Texas is their hated rival (from the old SWAC days) Anyway, Tulane would also be another feasable choice. But, the fact that we kick their ass just about every time they play doesn't make it a very competitive rivalry. :geauxtige LSU! :helmet:

Nichols is too far out our league to be a rival. I dread the day LSU lines up against the Colonels in football. It would be the worst loss in LSU history.

your post was a complete joke. saying 80% of people attending LSU games are ULL grads is ridiculous. then in this post you say crap like "a vast majority are not college grads". which is it mudbug? maybe it's 10% ULL grads, 60% LSU grads, 20% no degree and 10% LSU students. that sounds like a more reasonable estimate.

Well, let's look at it like this. The majority of LSU's in state fan base comes from 1)Lafayette area 2)Houma-Thibodaux area and 3)New Orleans area. The remaining small percentage comes from the Baton Rouge area. I would also be willing to bet that 10% to 15% of the Lafayette fan base are graduates of ULL. That is a more reasonable percentage breakdown. Arkansas, in my opinion, is still LSU's biggest conference rival. :geauxtige LSU! :helmet:  LSU! :helmet: :geauxtige
