Who’s this year’s Tennessee? You know, the highly ranked team that’s going to fall flat on its face? – CQ

A: One team stands out as having all the makings of being this year’s mega-flop … Florida. Expected by just about everyone to win the SEC, or at least the East, and being talked about as national title contenders, the Gators 1) don’t have a running game, 2) have a shaky, shaky, offensive line, 3) have a powder keg waiting to blow if star freshman quarterback Tim Tebow is merely competent and if Chris Leak struggles at all, and 4) has a schedule that would make most teams forget about playing the season altogether.

Remember, Tennessee really wasn’t that bad, and, of course, neither is Florida. Before the end of last year when the Volunteer snowball was unstoppable, Tennessee lost at Florida, to Georgia, at Alabama, in a nail-biter to South Carolina, and at Notre Dame. That’s not anything to cry about. Florida could be one of the ten best teams in America and still finish with five losses having to play at Tennessee, at Auburn, at Florida State, at home against Alabama, LSU and South Carolina, and in the World’s Largest Outdoor Gathering That Has Nothing To Do With Cocktails Or Alcohol In Any Form against Georgia.

i personally think uf goes 8-4 or 7-5. 9-3 at the best. such a hard schedule and no oline.

I've been saying Florida, everyone has had a year to look at Urban Myth's offense. Look for the gayterds to lose 3 or 4.

Last summer I said that Tennessee was the most overrated team in the SEC. This year, I say . . . Florida.

Yes our even year records aren't as good as our odd year records, but I think that this year we reload with tested talent and do way better than they give us credit for. While on the other front they act like AU and UF are the next coming in the SEC. I believe, much like most of you UF isn't gonna have the year that they are predicting. I don't think that Leak has it to catch on to the Urban system and to top it off his system is only good for a year or 2 before DC's start to figure it out. As for AU they may give us a run for the $$$$ but in the end I think that we come out on top. I think it is only natural for the pronosticators to look at our road schedule and oline and predict we'll take some lumps, they still believe we will have a good team at least. I think if we loose only two games we will do about what all of these guys are saying. Heck, most of the fans on this and all other LSU boards think our road schedule will be too daunting to go unbeaten.

I like how people think LSU will do bad this year because of the tough road schedule...

Dont they know anything about this team?

it almost seems like they THRIVE on the road games... especially JR.

oh well, well see how it goes.

I say we win all of our road games and drop one at home.

okay, let the bashing begin.

LVTGRFN, guess what I'm trying to say is that I have seen anybody underrate us up to this point in time. Almost all of the pronostigations I've seen are about the same as LSU fans.

USNAVY, I don't think anyone thinks we'll do bad, as your post says. The just believe we have a good chance of losing 2 of the tough 4 road games. Looking back at 2004, I think that is supported somewhat.
