Racism is still alive all over this country. Don't ever think it isn't.

THere are only two possible reasons I see that people do not appreciate JR.

    1. Race
    2. Lack of football knowledge.

As for Miles, He has done some weird stuff that I think make it hard for people to get on his bandwagon. I actually heard a Handicapper yesterday morning on XM say that the only shot LSU had of winning against Tenn, was if they left Miles in Baton Rouge. That kinda showed me that it wasn't just our fans that are still questioning him.

I think he is doing fairly well and the gameplan yesterday was the best we have had to date in the Miles era.

Fellas, don't you know that you're not allowed to criticize a black quarterback or a black coach. You can only say positive things like I can't believe Ty Willingham got fired from ND, he is a great coach. Nobody could have made Notre Dame into a solid team and just wait to see how great he does at Washington. Notre Dame will sure be sorry.

Y'all need to watch more ESPN. You can only criticize a quarterback's football IQ and decision-making if he's white. For instance, it wasn't racist when we pointed out how we were disappointed in Booty's decision making even though he made All SEC. And, it wasn't racist when we were glad Booty went pro so that we knew Davey would be the starter the next year. But, it is racist to criticize Russell's decision-making despite his strong arm. It is racist to wonder if we would have a better record right now if Flynn was the quarterback. It is racist to kind of hope that Russell goes pro after this season because you think that maybe we'll be better off with Flynn or RP.

I wish all you racists would go away. You racists!

PURPLE TIGER HOPE is not a strategy!

I personally like JR. Are there things he could do better?...sure.

    1) Lose 10 pounds
    2) Always throw with authority...no more lofty passes
    3) Pay more attention to the play clock to avoid wasting T/Os
    4) Look off the DBs instead of watching the WR run the entire route

With that said, he's still a hell of a QB. Why do people want Flynn? I don't think it's because he's white. Does racism still exist?...sure, but we see that racism exists in all races not just white people. (Maybe that's why people don't want Hester in the backfield.)

I think people just get frustrated with JR because he occasionally makes a bad decision. Our fans tend to appreciate the guys who make things happen even if they don't have the athleticism. (Mauck)

Most of the fans who sit around me yell more for Perilloux than Flynn when JR starts having trouble or we're in a blowout. That kind of shoots down the racism theory...at least in my section.

I like Miles also. He could do a few things better as well.

    1) Find 1-2 RBs and stick with them
    2) Quit using that goofy punt formation
    3) Exhibit more emotion like he did this week
    4) Kick Jimbo in the ass when he gets too conservative

He will never suit some of our fans that think Saban was God. If he wins, they'll claim it was with Saban's talent. If he loses, he's considered an idiot. I loved Saban but I don't recall winning every game when he was our coach. I remember sitting in the Cotton Bowl and in Orlando at the Capital One Bowl wondering why we weren't ahead by several TDs. I remember watching Florida run the same play several times to beat us in Tiger Stadium.

We won the National Championship but it surely wasn't easy. We were 1-2 plays away from losing several more games that year. We're only 1-2 plays away from being undefeated this year. I don't see much difference and I don't believe our record would be any different today if Saban was still here.

Yep i hear alot of people who are white in my section wanting to just skip right over matt and go to ryan. Why do you think this is?I think we always want to experience what a different qb brings to a game especially after seeing what matt flyn did in the peach bowl in substitute of a very respectable qb.Not racisim in my book even though i will admit there is still racisim in this world.I do beleive that during a football game even if you are racist that you have to overlook color since most of the team is black. There is a table set up right outside of tiger stadium every home game that alot of local naacp group members attend to try and voice their displeasure of what they think is racist on campus.I was talking to one guy by the table just to see what they were there for and then i was talking to two, then three. One of the guys during our conversation called me "white boy",and i told him that i was offended by that so he says ok then cracker is that better!Well the guy who was obviously putting the metting on overheard this and quickly stepped in and demanded to the angered guy that he apoligize and he did and me and they guy named erik had a real cool discusion.Sorry to ramble on but I thought our discussion pertained to this thread.

    About Miles: what NoLimit said.

About Russell: Anytime your starting QB struggles the backup QB is always
the favorite at any level of football.
He is always the most popular also with the exception of a superstar at QB
such as John Elway, Dan Marino, Peyton Manning, etc.

The thought of the race issue just makes me sick.

First of all, to the "racist" Russell haters out there, you're a bunch of no-good mutha............I think you know what I mean. Im white, and to not like someone because of his/her's skin color is ignorant.

Now, on Miles, I too don't like him. Not because he's not Saban, but because he's not a good SEC coach. LSU makes too many mistakes, stupid ones, in big games. And that's due to discipline, or lack there of. Miles is also POOR at game management. Wastes TOO MANY TO in every game. Like Sat., in the second half we had to take 2 TO cause we couldn't call a frickin play in time. That made the 4th down play the game. If we didn't get it, the game was over cuz we only 1 TO left. We won Sat. in spite of Miles, not because of him.

And on the Saban thing, people need to realize that other than the NC year, LSU had between 2-5 loses all the other years.

In the last governor's election typically Republican voting blocks favored Blanco over Jindal, despipte her vague playform and poor public speaking. Meanwhile, people like David Duke are still walking, breathing in this state. That tells me all that I need to know about how people in Louisiana feels about skin color.

It wasn't that long ago that people railed against Herb Tyler's starting over less talented, fairer skinned QB's with the same idiotic complaint of poor decision making as their mantra. A few weeks later Herb Tyler beats #1 UF in Baton Rouge and finishes his career at LSU on a high note.

Flynn hasn't done jack-**** and yet people still fawn over him. All he has shown is that with a month's preparation he can pick apart a has-been ACC defense.

I don't remember too many people calling for Sparacino over Tyler. Especially after that amazing performance against BAMA where he relieved an injured Tyler on the 2nd series of the game and directed us to a whopping 0 points that night. Also, Herb was on pace to become the winningest QB in LSU history. all of this coming off 6 consecutive losing seasons.
And that has been ACC defense, only gave up half as many points as LSU put on them once all last year, and that was a game against Clemson that went into multiple OTs.
I'm sick of people always pulling the race card any time someone who isn't white gets criticized. The only reason people are calling for Flynn, is because in limited action last year, he lit-up North Texas, and decimated Miami. Russell last year, had some very bright moments, but was also inconsistent. Most of the Flynn lovers saw that little bit of him, and it reminded them of Mauck in '03. That's it. No agenda. No racism.

Winning is everything. Races doesn't involve a lots here.

I can't wait till Ryan P. plays. He will make fans forget about JR.
Let's be realistic here. JR has all the physical abilities in the world but his football decisions are terrible. This is why JR is not even in the top 15 QBs in the nation per CFN.

LSU should have blown out UT yesterday if not for JR's interceptions. We dominated UT throughout.
