No matter who and no matter when, some people are always going to want to see the backup play. I do not understand why this is so, but I have seen it many times.

Even quarterbacks like Bert Jones and Tom Hodson, had only to have a bad game and someone would begin the cry to see the "other" guy play. The "fans" are never content.

LSU played its first black quarterback 30 years ago and several have played since. Rohan and Herb Tyler were wildly popular. I'm sure there are still some George Wallace racists out there, but I don't think race means a damn to Tiger fans and hasn't for decades. Hell most of the team is black.

I have to admit it. The reason that I think that Miles is just an average coach is the same reason that I think Russell is not very football smart. It is because they are both black. If Miles was white like Saban, I would think he was the best coach ever.

Quite frankly, I'd have to seriously wonder about anyone who even brings UP the race thing. it is stupid to give it any kind of recognition. Those that are racist are ignorant.

these people on the board who post that other fans with opinions must be racist are what is known as sh1t stirrers. when you stir **** it smells.

I think we have two good Qb's regardless of color. If someone wants one to start or the other it doesn't mean they are racist. If you cant talk about football without bringing up race or some childish reason why someone might like this guy or that, then it is simply a reflection of your intellect. It is usually a racist who brings up this kind of sh1t.

    good day.

    I'll add one more:

    3. Poor speaking skills. Perception is reality sometimes, and you can't help but think it's not very bright when he speaks. I know my first impression of him was not very favorable. Just another hurdle he has to overcome.

The rest of your post is spot on...

I saw him in Monroe about a week ago. He was headed to the Balkans I think. My point isn't racist. If you think that there is no one in Louisiana that prefers Flynn over Russell because of Russell's skin color or that skin doesn't matter to some people then I just simply don't know what to tell you. You obviously don't understand the concepts of logic or basic reasoning. There simply isn't anywhere else to go in this conversation.

Exactly and that's the point I am trying to make. For whatever reason when some people see race enter a discussion all logic fails them forwhatever reason. Maybe they're afraid that they'll be accused of being racist or maybe they'll find out that they are.

There are two type of people that feel that Flynn should be starting. 1) People who don't know a damn thing about football and 2) racists.

We'll go by the honor system and let people place themselves in the proper category...

I heard the black QB areguement many times while watching the Saints games last year with AB at the helm. I heard the same crap after we loss to AU this year. "Can't win a championship with a black QB"....

When I point out that Texas did just that last year, and how texas wouldnt of won it without him. They ofcourse don't want to hear that.

Racism is stupid, people in this country need to all be treated equal. Stop giving perks to people of certain race. It shouldn't matter what color anyone is. But the fact is the government is one of the main reasons why racism is still around in the USA.

That's another topic ...for another day... hangova's suck!

Agree, and logic fails because to be logical, we'd have to face the truth.

"Racist", to me, is a strong word, but to believe there are none (both African American and Caucasian- we always assume this to mean Caucasian towards African American- is ludicrous.

Prejudice might be a better word- and I can't say that for certain because only those who used the term "Racist" know what their true intention was- there's only a fine line between the two. I see "Predjudice" as more of a "Pro white" or "Pro Black" as opposed to "Anti". If nothing else, most are predjudice just by association. Most whites have predominantly white friends and vice versa. Even still, within the races, judgemental statements are heard.........

White people laugh at other white people when they are "Too White". It's unfavorable in the white community- sounds crazy but go to the beach and see what most are there for- tanning; not to mention year-round tanning beds.

People of color laugh at members within their race and call them out for "Being too dark".

The New Orleans situation at the Dome clearly polarized the situation- leaving people stranded for what, two or three days in those conditions. All we do and the money we spend for underdeveloped countries and you turn on the t.v. and see people on their roofs wating for help in this country.... I was infuriated- and yes, they should have gotten the hell out of there before the storm hit but many couldn't.

Our country still has a long way to go in race relations.
