The Aaron Brooks remark wasn't supposed to be taken seriously. I have no doubt that SOME people who want Flynn to start is race motivated, but I think it's a smaller group than people here realize. I firmly beleive that If Flynn were starting, and performing similarly to Russell, people would be begging for Russell to start.
Just look back not very far. I know a lot of people didn't like Mauck, and thought some of the flashes randal showed in '02 would translate to hom being the better starter.
Lots of people were screaming for Ro to start over Booty. IMO, no matter who the starter is, if he struggles at all, people will ask for the back-up.
Look to next year. If JR leaves, and Flynn is named starter, it will only be a matter of time before people start begging for RP to get into the game.

    Exactly!

Sadly, in my dealings with people, I am shocked each and every time although I shouldn't be, to find the biggest racists are those that scream racist first.

Riiiiiight... You don't think that people who are racist are stupid? In other words, you feel their claims that people are different and should be treated as such due to skin pigmentation is a legitimate one?

As for opinions, it is very possible for people to have stupid ones. They're often found in locales such as Auburn, AL and Oxford, MS. Sure they're entitled to one, but it doesn't mean they're not stupid. If you can't handle someone dishing out a little reality and speaking frankly ... well, you're simply just going to have to get over it. Click this little icon a few times if it makes you feel better about yourself. [IMG]

The very idea that you think that you can choose who agrees and disagrees with you (or even agreeing with you somehow lends my words credibility) surpasses any arrogance that I have ever encountered, on the internet or in person.

I thought Jake should have started instead of an obviously injured Aaron Brooks and been given a legitimate shot at starting in camp, just like Flynn received. Whoever was better should have gotten the starting job. That never happened because Carolina offered Jake much more money than the Saints were willing to.

Now, I can't stand Jake Delhomme's whining ass. If he's not crying because someoen touched him he's crying because someone didn't call a penalty or someone called an unfair penalty. He's always running to the refs and whining about something which gets old real quick. Thanks goodness I don't have to watch his crap every week. I'm glad we had to put up with Aaron Brooks his time here because it has led to the acquisition of Drew Brees, who iis better than Jake Delhomme on Jake's best day.

I shouldn't have to point this out because my reason for including the racist comments should be obvious. There are people who don't want a black QB simply because he's black. Fortunately, those attitudes are slowly (and literally) dying out, but those hardcore racists still exist. I wasn't "playing the race card", rather stating what should be an obvious fact.

Oh I am sure they are out there. its a shame. That's not the spirit the original post was presented with though. You and MLU, pretty much laid down a "set" pile of horse
sh1t, saying that if someone had an opinion other than yours they were either dumb or racist. When in fact most people are neither. In that case it was very idiotic to play the race card, please don't try to hide behind righteousness for minorities to prop up your opinion. it reeks and is low class. If you want to bring up the subject of racism, do so on it's own merit. I doubt seriously you'd do such a thing. You had an ulterior motive all along, and MLU just jumped on your band wagon. Ordinarliy I would applaud any REAL efforts to expose racism, but this is just a thinly vieled attempt ( as usual ) to call people rude things if they don't support your set criteria.

<<< JS calling it like it is.

    have a good day.

read what I just posted above, about stupid opinions.

wait let me get this straight, you are agaisnt racism, but you sterotype people from Oxford or Auburn? I don't suppose one of our good posters from Auburn or Oxford could get on here and point out all the excellent research that goes on at the two Universities you are reffering to? I assume you mean the university of Auburn and Ole Miss? I suppose those two schools are famous for producing stupid people, who graduate only to become stupid doctors, lawyers, engineer's, butcher's, baker's and candlestick makers so to speak. it occurs to me that some of the graduates at Ole Miss and Auburn are minorities. did you just call them stupid? wow that is racist.

You just keep posting, the more you type the less I have to prove my point.

    wow what a hypocrite. :dis:

I have one suggestion for anyone planning to post in this thread. From now on, any attempts at humor should be signaled by one of the following:  , ,:hihi: , ,:) ,;) ,:yelwink2: ,:thumb: . That way your remarks aren't taken seriously. It's happened to me and several others who are making tongue in cheek remarks, and then get bashed for them as being real opinions.

I have one question that I would like someone to give me a serious answer on.
Why are people automatically labeled a racist if they criticize a black QB (Russell), and call for the white backup (Flynn), but aren't racist if they criticize a white RB (Hester), and call for the black backup (pick-one)?
Why is it automatically assumed that if it's not race, then the guy has the football IQ of a dead rodent, just because he has a different opinion than yours?

"Look at me folks I am JSRacing, the tolerant . Look at me. I am not a racist." In fact, be sure you all watch me condemn anyone who dares to broach the subject. I have T-shirts that say "I'm not a racist".

You have totally misrepresented the intent of my original post in this thread. You are one of those fools who hear the word Race and jump up to condemn whoever may have said it, lest some one think you are just another Mississippi bigot. I'll bet you whisper when you say "black" for fear someone might be offended at something completely non-offensive.

I would, again, explain my statement in the 1st post but you are obviously too damn stupid to comprehend.

What is so hard to understand in this argument? No one is saying that all of the anti-Russell crowd are racists. It can nnot be denied that there are some people who think Russell is not a good QB simply because he is black. Those people are stupid. There are some who think Russell is not as good a quarterback as Matt Flynn for some non-racially motivated reason. They are also stupid but for altogether different reasons.

The fact that there is a conversation about why a 21-4 quarterback shouldn't be starting is in and of itself disturbing.

Thank you! If JS wasn't trying so hard to come off as Mike Stivic, he'd understand that.
