THANKFULLY I was expecting a 7-4 campaign this year...at best, 8-3. To say the least, this team has exceeded my expectations. [knocking on wood] Here's hoping that continues this weekend [/knocking on wood]
Well, I correctly picked Tennessee as the most overrated team in the conference on a poll on the Barner board last summer. Unfortuately I failed to pick Bama as the most underrated team. I picked State because they just couldn't be worse than last year. I thought that they had the most upside. I honestly thought Bama was another Top-10 recruiting year or two away from championship contention. And Bama may still have some depth issues in a long SEC season. But they have clearly been eating their Wheaties.
Wheaties? It's grits in these here parts. Of course, I'm in Charleston most of the year and it's shrimp and grits...but that's another story...
Yall talk more about Bear Bryant than we do, I've probably seen his name mentioned 15 times on this forum and every time it's been by an LSU fan. I just don't get it. I don't know who Charlie Mac is, but apparently he was your coach a long time ago and he used to lose to Bryant a lot from what I gather. Oh well, we both have new coaches now so I don't see the point in talking about Mac and the Bear. Speaking of our new coaches, both have been selected as semi-finalists (I think, it's the top 12) for the Maxwell Club Coach of the Year Award.
Just a wild guess, but could it be that it's because we are discussing the upcoming game with Alabama ?
Terry, I'd say it is a push at QB and LB too. Our LB's have been outstanding and JR has performed at least as well as Croyle lately. And the WR's aren't close to being a push in my opinion, LSU's will be much better in tihs game. You lost you best receiver, we have our's back at full speed for the first time this season. I'm expecting a close game as both defenses are stout and both teams have good running games and tend to depend on them. LSU 21-10.
.... and Bama fans are talking less about it here because they are worried right now about the Miss. St. game tomorrow.....
