What the **** is that supposed to mean? Players are players, not a skin color. It shouldn't and doesn't matter what color they are.

At the risk of ruffling feathers I'll make a quick point and leave it at that.

When Brown had his runs of success he always had a decent "white boy" starter. Don Redden, John Tudor, Ricky Blanton...even Jordy Hultburg. It seemed to have had a "settling" effect on the game. The "schoolyard" ball was mostly kept in check. I think Brown realized that he had to have good white guy who made the team settle down and play controlled. I hate to put this that way because it sounds semi-racist and that's not the intent.

It's ok for whites to be ecstatic about the 1st black to win the masters or the first black to win a bassmaster tourney, or the 1st black to break into anything that was predominantly owned by by whites, but its not ok to be happy about the first white to win mvp of a sport that is basically owned by the black majority.
    Thats what it means alum.

No, it means you are racist. Who gives a damn who gets the MVP as long as he's wearing an LSU jersey?

I agree...An award for good players should be colorblind. There is no affirmative action (or shouldn't be) in sports. But we are fools to think that each "color" doesn't have a different role on each team.

I enjoy watching college basketball...mostly because all the players still have a fire to want to play unlike pros where the "look" and social status is more important.

give me the all-time best LSU team and I'd take on any team except UNC or UCLA, so I don't buy that arguement, b/c LSU has produced the 2nd best guard ever and the best center ever
